Ganryu is a Japanese sumo wrestler who appeared in the first Tekken and Tekken 2, but then didn't make an appearance until Tekken Tag Tournament and then Tekken 5. Ganryu is not a very good fighter as he is quite slow, but if his moves are mastered, then he is a top quality fighter.

His attire usually consists of one of his sumo outfit.

Ganryu is known for working with both Heihachi Mishima and Kazuya Mishima. He also has a crush on Michelle Chang (Tekken 2) and Julia Chang (Tekken 5).
