Tekken 5 is the fifth game in the Tekken series. The game marks Tekken's 10th anniversary. The game was later upgraded into Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, which was released in Arcade, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3 (via PlayStation Network).

[edit] Gameplay

The interactive stages from Tekken 4 has been altered in Tekken 5, making the walls less effective and easier to escape. This time the opponent can only be hit against walls, whereas in Tekken 4, they be hit by other objects. The ground can also be broken this time. Tekken 5 introduces a crush system, which affects the vulnerability of a character while they attack. For example, a character will be invulnerable to a jump kick, if they are using a ducking sweep kick. The gameplay is faster than the gameplay than Tekken 4.

Tekken 5 removes Tekken Force, which as a side-game included in Tekken 3 and Tekken 4, in favor of the new Devil Within mode. It is also the first game to include customization.

[edit] Unlockable Characters

In addition, there's the unplayable final boss, Jinpachi Mishima. This marks the first time in the series where the final boss is unplayable. This tradition would continue on in Tekken 6 with Azazel. However, Jinpachi later becomes a playable character in the PlayStation 3 version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and the upcoming Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Note: The bolded characters indicates the new characters.
