Gameplay
The interactive stages from Tekken 4 has been altered in Tekken 5, making the walls less effective and easier to escape. This time the opponent can only be hit against walls, whereas in Tekken 4, they be hit by other objects. The ground can also be broken this time. Tekken 5 introduces a crush system, which affects the vulnerability of a character while they attack. For example, a character will be invulnerable to a jump kick, if they are using a ducking sweep kick. The gameplay is faster than the gameplay than Tekken 4.
Tekken 5 removes Tekken Force, which as a side-game included in Tekken 3 and Tekken 4, in favor of the new Devil Within mode.
