Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a sequel to Tekken Tag Tournament and is the second Tekken game to focus on tag battles.

It was first release on Arcades in Japan on September 14th, 2001. An exact release date for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has yet to be announced for the console versions. However, the PlayStation 3 version will supposedly be release sometime in 2012.

Every character from Tekken 6 is in the game, as well as the return of the characters Jinpachi Mishima, Jun Kazama, True Ogre, Devil Kazuya and Unknown. Julia Chang also has an alter-ego by the name of Jaycee.

A playable demo of the game called Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue will be included with the Tekken Hybrid disc.

[edit] Gameplay

The game engine has been said to be different from the one used in Tekken 6. The tag features from Tekken Tag Tournament are present here, with some upgrades, like extended tag combos and combined moves. The bound system from Tekken 6 will also be featured. The rage system from Tekken 6 is said to have been removed from the game. Like the first Tekken Tag Tournament, one-on-one fights will also be an option.
