Heihachi Mishima, (born August 24, 1932) previously Head of the Mishima Zaibatsu, is the son of Jinpachi Mishima, father of Kazuya Mishima, grandfather of Jin Kazama, and adoptive father of Lee Chaolan. Before the origanal game, Heihache saw his son Kazuya Mishima as weak, so threw him off a cliff, telling him to survive. Up untill the first King of Iron Fist Tournament, Heihachi adopted Lee Chaolan, and then lost to Kazuya in the tournament. Soon after, Kazuya threw his father off of the same cliff he was thrown off.

Kazuya took control of the Mishima during Tekken 2, and hosted the second tournament. Heihachi survived the fall, entered the second tournament, won it by defeating Kazuya, and threw his son into a volcano.

During Tekken 3, Heihachi and his organisation the Tekken Force discover Ogre, hoping to use Ogre to become more powerful. Heihachi takes his grandson, Jin Kazama in and trains him. Soon after the third King of Iron Fist Tournament is hosted by Heihachi, where Jin defeats Ogre, then defeats Heihachi, which causes the transformation of True Ogre, who Jin also defeats, after which Jin flies off.

During Tekken 4, Heihachi tries to combine his DNA with Ogre's, but realises that he also need The Devil Gene for it to work. Heihachi sets up the fourth King of Iron Fist Tournament, where both Jin and Kazuya go, but Jin is captured and taken to Hon-Maru. Kazuya wins the tournament, wins back the Zaibatsu, and learns where Jin has been taken. Kazuya knocks out Heihachi in Hon-Maru, wakes up Jin, and Jin defeats them both. Jin, now Devil Jin is about to kill Heihachi, but sees a hallucination of Jun Kazama before doing so and flies away.

In Tekken 5, Heihachi and Kazuya are attacked by many of the jack-4's, since G Corporation has now betrayed Kazuya. Kazuya escapes, leaving his father to die. The Jack-4's eventually use the self destruction device in their faces, which destroys Hon-Maru, even though Heihachi survives.

In Tekken 6, Heihachi once again tries to get back the Mishima Zaibatsu, after being enraged about hearing Jin taking it over.

Heihachi Mishima, along with Nina Williams, Paul Phoenix and Yoshimitsu are the only characters to be playable in all the main Tekken games.
